Our Village Legacy Circle
The Pasadena Village Legacy Circle is very much a part of the spirit of the Village. When we hear the word “legacy,” we sometimes think about money or estate planning. Legacy is really about something much more personal. It’s about asking ourselves: What do I want to leave behind? What has mattered to me? What do I want to ensure will continue for the people who come after me?
For many of us, Pasadena Village has become more than an organization. It has become a community. It’s the person who checks in when you’ve been under the weather. It’s the neighbor who offers a ride. It’s the conversation over coffee; the volunteer who steps forward; the program we attend; or the new friendship we never expected to make. It’s the feeling that we belong somewhere… and that we matter to one another. That is what makes the Legacy Circle so meaningful.
When you become part of our Legacy Circle you are saying that you want Pasadena Village to be here for future generations. You are helping create a foundation for the Village to continue building community, connection, and support for older adults in the years ahead. This is not a decision about giving something away, but a statement about what you want to help carry forward.
A legacy gift might be a provision in your will, a beneficiary designation, or another type of planned gift. And it doesn’t necessarily mean changing what you give to Pasadena Village today. In fact, 14 Villagers have already made this commitment; others are considering it; and still others made a commitment years ago to other special organizations who have had a profound influence in their lives. It’s all about taking action that supports your hope to make a difference. LuCinda Haagensen shared, “I recently became part of the Legacy Circle because I love the Village and everything it has to offer. I want to share it with future Villagers.”
The heart of your decision is simple: think about what Pasadena Village means to you, about the people you’ve met, the experiences you’ve shared. Now, imagine Pasadena Village many years from now—with another generation of Villagers gathering together, forming friendships, helping one another, and creating the same sense of community that we value today.
The Legacy Circle gives us an opportunity to say in a very tangible way: I believe in this community. I believe in our future. I want to take action to ensure the Village serves others long after I’m gone.
