One blog that speaks to the strength of our community is PV Response to the Eaton Fire. When disaster struck Eaton Canyon, our Village mobilized like family. Ninety-one members evacuated, 17 homes were lost—but what followed was a surge of kindness: cooked meals, donated furniture, financial support, and open doors for displaced friends. The blog doesn’t just report—it celebrates resilience, generosity, and the way Villagers always show up for each other.

Courageous Conversations

The 1619: Lingering Imprint blog takes on some of the most important issues of our time. Led by Board President Dick Myers, this series explores the legacy of slavery and systemic racism, amplified by speakers like Dr. Lynn Hudson and restorative justice leader John Williams. This blog invites all readers into a powerful and ongoing conversation.

Racism Now complements the above with intimate accounts from members on how racism has shaped their lives. Honest, brave, and eye-opening, these stories deepen our empathy and strengthen our community’s commitment to justice.

A Poetry Gathering is where we gather to listen to the spoken word: sometimes in poems, sometimes in songs. Here, we read poems that move us. We then discuss, offer opinions, memories and stories.

Meandering, meanwhile, offers reflective essays on everything from childhood memories to life’s big questions. Villager Ed Rinderle, who’s contributed more than 30 pieces, says, “I love the idea of putting my writings out there for others to enjoy.”
