A HOLIDAY SING-ALONG
PASADENA VILLAGE ANNUAL HOLIDAY SING - ALONG
On Thursday, December 9, approximately 30 members of the Village met at the beautiful Altadena home of Fred and Fritzie Culick for the annual holiday sing-along. This year we singers had a special treat in store. Fritzie introduced Michal Connor, the bass soloist of Canterbury Choir at All Saints Church, who served as the leader of our singing. Michal's enthusiastic, out-going personality, together with his magnificent, rolling bass voice, made him an outstanding leader. Fritzie accompanied us on the piano. We sang many of the standards: Joy to the World, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Silent Night, and more.
Along the way, Michal asked the group if anyone knew who King Wenceslas was. No one did, but in seconds, the answer came from the audience when someone was quick to google the Good King on her cell phone.
Near the end of the sing-along, a request came for him to sing O Holy Night for us. He did, and his performance resulted in a standing ovation.
After the singing, we moved to a dining area to visit briefly with one another. Covid prevented us from sharing goodies this year, but we did partake of some hot apple cider and cold drinks. The party broke up shortly after 3 pm, as we wished one another a happy holiday and departed with merriment in our hearts.
Thank you Fritzie, Fred, and Michal for a memorable afternoon.
