MEANDERING

The Meandering blog is the brainchild of long-time Village member Dick Myers. He created the blog in order to provide “a vehicle for Village members to express their thoughts, feelings, and reflections about life.” In choosing the name “Meandering”, Dick brings to mind a river, winding its way from place to place in unexpected ways, creating as it goes. Similarly, the “Meandering” blog can be a place where the creativity of the Village's membership can flourish. Or, in Dick's words, “a place where a thousand flowers bloom." 

Over the past months, Village members have contributed a variety of writings, including poetry, essays, short reflections, descriptions of personal experiences, reminiscences, and short stories.  

The process for submitting a contribution is easy.  Village member Ed Rinderle puts it this way: “All I need to do is send my writing to Dick and his coworker, Bruce Christensen, as an email attachment. Soon afterward, my piece 'magically' appears in the blog.” Ed adds, “I have received some generous feedback from readers; their words have given me a lift and encouraged me to write more.”

To access the blog, go to the Village home page at pasadenavillage.org, click on “Blogs”, then click on “Meandering”. You do not need to be a member of Pasadena Village to view this blog or any of the other blogs provided by the Village.

Currently, Dick and Bruce are busily exploring ways in which to make the blog more extensive and easier to use. Dick envisions the possibility of accommodating most anything that a would-be Villager suggests, including visual art, photography, and short videos.  

Have you written something that you might like to share but are hesitant to do so? If so, please don't be shy. The Meandering blog provides a safe place for you to post your work. And remember: if you like something you've written, chances are that there are others who will like it, too.  

So send something to Dick and Bruce if you feel at all moved to do so. You will be glad you did.
