Doug Colliflower Honored
By Bridget BrewsterPosted: 02/27/2024
One hundred years ago the Altadena Chamber of Commerce began serving the businesses and citizens of Altadena. On February 2 this year, the Chamber honored Doug Colliflower as its Centennial Citizen of the Year.
This annual recognition is awarded to an Altadena resident who “has contributed substantially to the betterment of the community through the years and been involved in the community through volunteer efforts and is of good character.”
Doug Colliflower is a longtime resident of Altadena who has been active in the community for more than 35 years. He is a realtor with Berkshire-Hathaway and specializes in the real estate needs of senior citizens. Doug is a Director and Immediate Past President of the Rotary Club of Altadena, serves on the Altadena Town Council, is a two-time President of the Altadena Chamber of Commerce, and currently serves on the Pasadena Village Board of Directors.
During the celebration, Doug was given special recognition by Congresswoman Judy Chu, State Senator Anthony Portantino, and Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger. Among the many guests present to support and honor Doug were several board directors of Pasadena Village.
In accepting this prestigious honor, Doug said, “I have found community service work very gratifying and fulfilling. I am grateful for the many wonderful friends I have made along the way. Should you have an interest in community service and are a little intimidated, don’t be! The opportunities are abundant, the rewards are immense, and I know of no group that would not welcome you with open arms.”
