It was a mere apple that started it all

At the event that was labeled “The Fall.”

When Eve plucked the fruit of the forbidden tree

That led to creating people like me

But we overdid it by bounds and by leaps

Over-peopled the earth and created trash heaps

Our air is polluted, out health has declined

Divisiveness reigns and states are reclined

Open your eyes that you have shut tight

As smoke in the air turns day into night

Look at the awesome spread of the virus

That, raging unchecked, will soon expire us.

I have a comment, for what it’s worth:

We may be seeing the end of the Earth.
