About Senior Solutions
By Edward A. RinderlePosted: 03/28/2025
I have been in a quandary for some time. Struggling with problems with my feet. Juggling various activities, including doctor visits. Tending to raw emotions which once were tame. Researching care facilities with my future in mind. And all the while trying to grieve for the loss of my beloved wife, Jean, just a year and a half ago.
I shared some of my dilemma with my fiduciary and good friend, Ron Stoffers, who pointed me to a group called About Senior Solutions. His description of the ways he thought they could help my situation intrigued me. So, a few days later I called them.
I spoke to Mary Winners, Certified Gerontologist and CEO of About Senior Solutions. We talked for about an hour, about me and about their services. I became still more intrigued and expressed interest in taking advantage of the help they could provide. Soon after, I received a packet of information from Ginny Delgatto, Director of Client Services. The packet contained a set of Client Profile forms and a cover letter in which Ginny stated, "About Senior Solutions is a senior resource, evaluation, and advocacy organization dedicated to serving the needs of aging seniors and their family members."
She continued, "It is the mission of About Senior Solutions to take seniors and their families out of the care crisis and offer the highest quality support and direction for every unique individual facing the aging process. Our primary purpose is to treat our families with the love and care that we would offer our own loved ones. We have a philosophy of treating people the way you want to be treated."
After mulling over the information and talking with a few friends about the program, I signed up with them by filling out the forms and paying an initial, partly refundable, fee.
A few days later I met with Mary and Debra Bein, Geriatric Care Manager, at my home. We discussed my needs further, their services, and payment options. I learned that I can use their services as much or as little as I wish. They made no attempt to “sell me” on anything. We ended by laying out a plan of things I need to do before we get started in earnest.
I am pleased with everything I heard from Mary and Debra. They are a delight to talk with. When they left, I felt that I had made two new friends. I look forward to getting better acquainted with the services of About Senior Solutions. I am comforted by having them on my team.
