Join Villager Paul Hunt for a review of the Trump tariffs, why they matter, and their economic impact. Paul will discuss how tariffs were historically used to raise revenue and protect local industry, and explore how the current administration is using them today.
Paul Hunt Bio:
Paul Hunt was born and raised in Pasadena. He holds Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees from Pomona College and Stanford University. While in graduate school, he was an intern at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. After graduate school, he joined Southern California Edison and worked there for 39 years. After retiring from SCE, he became a consultant to regulated utilities. Related to his utility work, he served on the Board of Directors of the Society of Utility and Regulatory Financial Analysts.
In addition to his work, he was the Founding Chair of the Board of Directors of the Economic Roundtable, a public policy research organization in Los Angeles. At various times, he served as a member of various committees of the City of Pasadena, the Pasadena Unified School District, and the College of Business and Economics, California State University, Los Angeles. He lives in Sierra Madre.
