Makiko Hirata is "Dr. Pianist," with a Doctor of Musical Arts from Rice University. She is an international concert pianist with ten released albums and has collaborated on research with scientists to quantify and promote the power of music. For the older communities, like the ones at Villa Gardens and Pasadena Village, she introduces music as a practice to enhance your well-being, cognitive, psychological and physical health. Music can be a powerful tool of pain management.
Music can also increase your sense of joy, purpose and belonging. So, how can you incorporate music in your daily lives to enjoy these benefits? Dr. Pianist, can show you in this presentation! Come join us for this musical event at Fritzie's lovely home. Refreshments will be served.
