Join fellow Pasadena Villagers for a three-day adventure to Joshua Tree National Park from Tuesday, October 13 to Thursday, October 15, 2026. On this trip, we will explore "the land between two deserts" and illuminate the rich and diverse human and natural history of California through both common and uncommon places, including desert preserves, park viewpoints, short walking trails, and a concluding visit to The Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art & Culture in Riverside.

Why Joshua Tree?
Joshua Tree National Park is where two distinct deserts meet: the Mojave and the Colorado, each with its own plants, animals, and geology. Inside the park, you will learn why Joshua Trees are not actually trees, see ancient monzogranite formations, and experience desert vistas from viewpoints such as Keys View and the Cholla Cactus Garden. The trip is designed to offer relaxed exploration and gentle walks, with opportunities for slightly longer trails for those who are interested.
