Join Director/Writer Bob Niemack for a screening of his documentary “Bad Dads” hosted by George Foreman. This emotional documentary was shot for 8 weeks in a Pennsylvania Federal penitentiary. It examines a unique and effective program that pairs up teens-who-have-been-in-trouble-with-the-law with male convicts who-themselves-are-fathers – not to scream at each other (though on rare occasions they do), but to begin to come to grips with the debilitating anger that young kids feel when they are abandoned by their fathers, physically and/or emotionally. With therapeutic support, these “bad dads” and “bad kids” do guided exercises to unlock and understand the ways in which family disfunction is passed from generation to generation. It’s a powerful process that works to interrupt that cycle. Wanna talk about how bad dads can become good dads? This is the place. Could this be the antidote to Scared Straight!? Let’s discuss. Did it have a big impact on Bob’s parenting? He’ll share the details.
