We’re taking the A-Line to Azusa to check out the beautiful, master planned community of Rosedale. This is a 3.2-mile walk on sidewalks; approximately 0.75 of a mile is uphill. The route also includes walking down a series of public stairs with handrails. The walk ends at a popular, order-at-the counter restaurant called Café Cultura with a large, shaded patio and an amazing pancake menu.
Here’s the plan:
- Take the A-Line east to APU/Citrus College Station
- Walk along The Promenade
- Head north along the edge of Rosedale’s Great Park
- Continue walking north through the winding trails of Arroyo Central Park
- Wind our way southwest to Azusa’s historic core and Café Cultura for breakfast.
- Hop on the A-Line at Azusa Downtown Station and head back towards Pasadena
We will catch a train that gets us to the APU/Citrus College station at 8:30AM. I’ll distribute Metrorail station departure times the week before the walk. We’ll meetup and travel in the first car of the train. I’m boarding at the Sierra Madre Villa Station at 8:06 and you can join me there (free parking!), or depart from a station that’s more convenient for you. If we miss each other on the train, we’ll connect at the APU/Citrus College Station, which also has a restroom.
