We’re taking the A-Line to Azusa to check out the beautiful, master planned community of Rosedale. This is a 3.2-mile walk on sidewalks; approximately 0.75 of a mile is uphill. The route also includes walking down a series of public stairs with handrails. The walk ends at a popular, order-at-the counter restaurant called Café Cultura with a large, shaded patio and an amazing pancake menu.
Here’s the plan:
- Take the A-Line east to APU/Citrus College Station
- Walk along The Promenade
- Head north along the edge of Rosedale’s Great Park
- Continue walking north through the winding trails of Arroyo Central Park
- Wind our way southwest to Azusa’s historic core and Café Cultura for breakfast.
- Hop on the A-Line at Azusa Downtown Station and head back towards Pasadena
We will catch a train that gets us to the APU/Citrus College station at 8:30AM. I’ll distribute Metrorail station departure times the week before the walk. We’ll meetup and travel in the first car of the train. I’m boarding at the Sierra Madre Villa Station at approximately 8:06 and you can join me there (free parking!), or depart from a station that’s more convenient for you. If we miss each other on the train, we’ll connect at the APU/Citrus College Station.
