Darren Higa, researcher and volunteer at the Huntington Library, will tell the story of the Huntington family, with emphasis on two of the Huntingtons: Collis, one of the “Big Four” owners of the Central Pacific Railroad, and his nephew, Henry, who created the Red Car train system in Los Angeles, as well as building his home in San Marino which is now the Huntington Library, Art Gallary and Botanical Gardens. And, if you’re new to this story, you’ll be interested in this fun fact: they were both married to the same woman, Arabella Huntinton (though not at the same time). What a family! Come hear all about them!
If you have any questions please contact the event organizer, Bob Niemack.
