Art by Jane Brackman
Opening Reception Friday, January 9, 2026
3:00 to 4:00 p.m
When Jane Brackman returned to her Altadena home last February, her art focused on the colorful, heavy-duty dump trucks deployed by the Army Corp of Engineers to remove more than 2.5 million tons of fire debris from nearly ten thousand destroyed structures.
Dwan to dusk, seven days a week, February through June, truck drivers made about 1,50 trips a day. Thanks to the diligent efforts of the workers, the massive clean up operation proceeded at twice the speed of prior wildfire recoveries.
The cartoonish, colorful super sized trucks that crawled throughout the burn zone, and the generous spirit of those who drove them inspired the 28 paintings that will be featured at the exhibit.
As a remembrance, a 2026 calendar featuring the whimsical paintings will be available for $20, who all proceeds going to Pasadena Village.
