Many of us want to stay in our homes but are concerned about how to make it possible.  Come join us for a workshop exploring modifications to make your home a safer place to live.  We will go room by room with suggestions utilizing universal design to allow you to stay safely in your home.  We will offer quick fixes and more long term fixes.  This workshop is for everyone…homeowners and renters.  We can all make our living space safer. 

Guy Reavis, OTD, OTR/L, CAPS is an occupational therapist and Assistant Professor of Clinical Occupational Therapy at University of Southern California where he teaches courses on occupational science, communication skills in practice, and is the lead instructor for the productive aging and geriatrics immersion course. His clinical experience includes acute care, skilled nursing, home health, and Adult Day Healthcare Centers. Currently, in addition to teaching at USC, he works for Habitat for Humanity of Los Angeles where he provides home safety assessments and modifications for older adults under the Older Adult Home Modification Program, a HUD sponsored grant program that provides grants up to $15k for home modifications.

Judy Packard, MA, OTR/L is a retired occupational therapist with a background in pediatrics.  As she and friends aged, classes were taken to help her friends age in place: a USC Executive Certification in Home Modification Program and Fall Prevention seminars.  She has taught several fall prevention classes in the community.  Judy is a member of the Pasadena Village.
