Have you ever been to a gay or lesbian bar? Maybe you grew up in these community spaces, maybe you've visited once, or not at all! Whatever your experiences are, we invite you to join us in the reading and discussion of selected chapters from the books Who Needs Gay Bars by Greggor Mattson and Moby Dyke: An Obsessive Quest to Track Down the Last Remaining Lesbian Bars in America by Krista Burton.
We plan to discuss not only these chapters, but also our experiences living in these disappearing spaces, and our thoughts on the trajectory of gay and lesbian bars in the changing landscape of the LGBTQ+ community, and the US at large.
The reading will be sent to your associated email upon registration for the discussion.
If you have any questions, or would like the reading in larger text size, please contact our Program Associate Kieran Highsmith at kieran@pasadenavillage.org.
