Restore Sessions

1A or 2A -  Return to Resonance: A Music & Mindfulness Experience
In this immersive music and mindfulness workshop, participants will be gently guided through breathing practices, reflective listening, and live acoustic soundscapes designed to support nervous system regulation and emotional renewal. Through a guided practice, accompanied by guitar, voice, and moments of collective reflection, we will explore how music can help us restore what feels depleted, repair what feels fragmented, and renew our sense of inner steadiness. No musical experience is required—just a willingness to breathe, listen, and be present. Participants will leave with practical, accessible tools for using music and mindful awareness to anchor themselves long after the retreat ends. Stacie Aamon Yeldell, MA, MT-BC, AVPT is a Mental Health Specialist with Project HOPE. She holds a Master’s in Music Therapy from NYU and certifications in Sound Healing and Vocal Psychotherapy.

1B or 2B - Spiritual Journaling
This is a simple tool to reflect, renew, and encourage your soul. Participants will learn this technique and then get plenty of time to practice it. Presented by Kim Aasland, a resident of Altadena and a fire survivor herself. She has a certificate in Spiritual Direction and currently serves as the Fire Response Coordinator at Epicentre Church.

1E - Guided Walk with Jason Moss of the Jewish Federation
An opportunity for a walk and talk... and an opportunity to reflect and rejuvenate in a beautiful setting. Join Jason Moss, the Executive Director of the Jewish Federation of the Greater San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys. The philosophy that The Jewish Federation instilled in their Eaton Fire Support effort was one of having a soft, subtle hand on people's backs... helping them recognize that our community was not going to let them fall.

Repair Sessions

1C or 2C - Gentle Tools For Trauma Related Sleep Struggles
This session will be led by Valerie Chu, LPCC, ATR-BC of Medical Mission Adventures. It is a gentle workshop for adults experiencing sleep difficulties after trauma, exploring how trauma affects rest and learning calming tools to ease nighttime anxiety and support better sleep.

1D or 2D - Threads of Renewal: An artful journey of reflection and HOPE
This session is a reflective, trauma-informed space inviting participants to explore land not only as physical terrain, but as a living foundation for memory, identity, and belonging. Through a guided grounding practice, intentional engagement with nature, and contemplative art-making, participants will be encouraged to consider how this place, experience, and personal history has shaped them to become who they are in the present. The program includes the creation of personal “journey sticks,” where wrapping a wooden stick with texture, and symbolic materials become a way to honor experience, resilience, and hope for what lies ahead. No artistic experience is necessary—only a willingness to reflect, create, and connect with land, self, and community in a supportive space. Led by Nadia Paredes, LMFT, ATR, a mental health specialist at Project HOPE.

Renew Sessions

2E - Connection & Healing through Movement
Connection through movement, music, and intention is incredibly healing. The participants can expect to be led through simple movement/dance, write or speak about a guided topic, and explore connection and creativity through structured improvisation and simple choreography. Michelle Kolb is a retired dancer, Pilates Instructor, Reiki Practitioner, and teacher of healing dance classes for special populations at Lineage Performing Arts Center.

2F - Radical Amazement - Finding Renewal in ourselves and our world
Renewal of the soul - a short walk in nature frequent stops for poetry, prayer meditation with Rabbi Jill Gold Wright, Director of Education at Pasadena Jewish Temple and Center
