Join us at Landmark Theatres Pasadena for a private screening of The Celluloid Closet (1996), an American documentary examining the history of homosexual and queer representation in Hollywood cinema from the silent era to the early 1990s. Narrated by Lily Tomlin and featuring interviews with actors, writers, and commentators, the film uses clips from over 120 movies to show how LGBTQ+ characters were depicted through stereotypes, secrecy, and eventually, growing acceptance, reflecting the changing societal perceptions of queer individuals.
If you have any questions, or would like to reserve one of the two wheelchair spaces in the theatre, please contact our Program Associate Kieran Highsmith at kieran@pasadenavillage.org.
In collaboration with the SGV LGBTQ Center.
