A centerpiece of the exhibition is Panorama of the Valley of the Smokes (60 ft x 5 ft), painted by Sara Velas (Founder of the Velaslavasay Panorama) in the year 2000. The Hall of Crucifixion-Resurrection, located next to Forest Lawn Museum, displays the Crucifixion (195 ft x 45 ft), which was painted by Polish artist Jan Styka in the 1890s. You have to see the scale of these works to appreciate the mastery that went into them.
We will carpool to the museum and then to a no-host lunch at the Tam O' Shanter Restaurant in Glendale. Delighting diners for 100 years, the Tam O’Shanter is Los Angeles’ oldest restaurant operated by the same family in the same location (Most entrees are $15-35 or you can splurge on Prime Rib for $40-60). Free; Pay-for-your-own lunch.
